Living Room Blues

Now that is has been a few days since first seeing the apartment, I can really see what I want to see and how I want it to look. The living room is open to the kitchen and is a long narrow space. It has nice big windows that will bring in tons of light and the wall colour is the regular new home beige with white moldings. It is fresh and clean but totally unoriginal. I am thinking I would love to have a beachy look. Soft blues and greens stand out against the white and beige. I am really not a fan of going overboard in a single look so I would want it to be subtle and understated. We do live in the north so it wouldn't look right to have it decked out like a Mexican vacation home. Anyways, it is getting late but I just wanted to let you all know what I was thinking of doing with the living room. Can't wait to get some pictures taken so I can post them. Well it is off to bed for me, till tomorrow!

Bedroom Dreaming

So with the move just under a month away, I am quickly looking for some new accessories and furniture for our brand new bedroom. The apartment we are moving into is much nicer than the one we have right now and it is better layed out. The bedroom is always the first room I think about and start to decorate when we move anywhere. It's the first room I like to unpack and make feel lived in. Here's some bedroom inspiration, Enjoy!

P.S. The dresser, tall mirror and night stand are from IKEA, the headboard from WESTELM, the bedding and candle sticks from BLISSLIVING, and the bling sconce and hurricanes from ZGALLERIE.

Welcome Home

First off, I would like to welcome you all to my blog, DesignDIVA Home. This is going to be the site of my very first blog on making your house a home through decorating. My husband and I are moving into our very own little gem of an apartment next month and are going to take you on our journey! I will be changing up the college/hand me down furniture for more permanent pieces that represent who we are. Also, there will be lots of little touches of our personality that really show off our true selves. So welcome, and we hope you enjoy the journey we are about to take you on.
